Last weekend I participated in an Urban Prankster event. It’s a network of people who participate in pranks, hacks, participatory art, flash mobs, and other creative endeavors that take place in public places in cities across the world. It’s generally good natured in spirit and meant to make the unsuspecting public who encounters it do a double take.
The concept of this particular event was to create a frozen human chain. One person freezes in place, the next person walks up a little later, touches them and freezes, etc etc. Once the chain is complete, one by one they unfreeze and go about their business. The kid in the middle of the photo seemed especially confounded.
The event took place by the fountains in Centennial Olympic Park. The same thing was attempted in the CNN food court, but was quickly broken up by security guards. Guess they don’t appreciate performance art.
